Huge thank-you to everyone who took part in the first in-person Anne Frank Awards since 2019!
Pupils from six schools submitted projects highlighting their fantastic work to promote tolerance and understanding, and five schools attended an event at the Art Gallery on 10 June. We were also joined by graphic novelists John Chalmers and Sandra Marrs (known collectively as Metaphrog), who shared their insights on using comics to communicate stories and ideas. Several of the school groups had been inspired by their graphic novel Shifting, which explores the bullying and discrimination faced by Gypsy/Traveller young people. The story was left unfinished, inviting pupils to create their own endings – which were displayed at the Art Gallery event.
