Launch of the Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund

Programme page Press Release

18 August 2015

Launch of the Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund

VAF is delighted to announce the launch of the Scottish Government’s new Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund.

The aim of the fund is to help small voluntary organisations and community groups in Scotland with income under £25,000 to run an event or engagement activity to gather views on how we can create a Fairer Scotland.

Grants of up to £300 (or exceptionally up to £500 for a larger event) are available to support an event or engagement activity with a group of five or more people.  The event or activity should gather the participants’ thoughts about how we can create a Scotland where people are healthier, happier and treated with respect, and where opportunities, wealth and power are spread more equally.

Applications can be submitted to VAF at any time from now until the deadline of 12 October 2015. Applicants will be informed within 2 working days of receipt of a completed application whether the application has been successful or not.

Keith Wimbles, VAF Chief Executive,  said “ the Fairer Scotland Engagement Fund provides an exciting opportunity for grass roots organisations and community groups to gather the views of local people and help shape the Scotland in which they would like to be living in 2030”.

Further information, including the guidance and application form, is available on the VAF website ( )
