Volunteering

GREC would not be able to deliver the work it does without the support of its volunteers.  The organisation received the Volunteer Friendly Award for the period 2014-16 and we are proud of our commitment and investment in volunteers.  Over the 2015-16 period over 40 volunteers have been directly involved in supporting GREC project and service delivery.

Some examples of how volunteers have supported the work of GREC over the last year:

Ethnic Minority Health Link Project

The project worker recruited an intern student from the University of Aberdeen who supports the project outcomes by preparing literature reviews, attending engagement events, analysing data and conducting qualitative interviews with members of ethnic minorities.

NHS Grampian Focus Groups

Several volunteers were involved in supporting the organisation, promotion, facilitation, scribing, data analysis, and report writing for the GREC/NHS Grampian focus groups in November 2015.

Economic Experience of Different Ethnic Groups

Two research volunteers added significant value to the project by supporting the large literature review of this project.

GREC Anne Frank Awards

Volunteers supported the project by helping to welcome guests, give out goodie bags to young people, and ensure the smooth running of the event.

Office/Admin help

Two volunteers have taken on roles as volunteer reception staff, providing a welcoming smile to guests and supporting the day-to-day work of the Admin Manager.
